Sear
Description: Perfectly mated hard sear CNC machined from American-made tool steel and vacuum heat treated yielding 52-53 on the RC scale for the best possible combination of strength, wear-resistance and durability. EGW has also made minimal geometric improvements to the original sear spec; grinding the hammer contact surface to ensure strength, while avoiding the too-long condition found in many aftermarket sears. |

Hammer Strut—Titanium
Description: Titanium hammer strut machined by EGW. Lighter than steel struts to decrease lock time, and a little longer to avoid free play in the hammer when the hammer is down. |

Long Ball Head Disconnector
Description: Long Ball Head Disconnector machined from 4140 (RC 48-49) by EGW so the top of the disconnector is taller and does not drag on the sear pin. This is important when you are doing trigger work under 2 1/4 lbs since you can feel the slightest drag. The ball head gets rid of the click usually found on 1911 guns caused by the head moving back and forth in the frame hole. EGW also altered the geometry of the disconnector so that it is not tripped when inserting a loaded magazine. |

Mainspring Housing Cap—Titanium (Gov’t and Cmdr)
Description: Titanium Mainspring Housing Cap machined by EGW for Government or Commander Models is 40% lighter than steel to speed up lock time on 1911 competition guns. The short tail keeps the weight minimal. This cap works great with EGW’s titanium hammer strut. |

Description: These genuine Colt sear springs are supplied to us by EGW and are the best sear springs they have come across in 25+ years in the 1911 business. The middle and left side prongs are weight-reduced for added responsiveness and hammer follow prevention. The distinctive blue color is typical of Colt’s excellent heat treating capabilities. |
